About:  FFireball is (or should be one day) a 2D-Spaceship-Action-Game. Its mission is to animate kids spending their time in shooting down big Aliens and rescueing the entire world from its disaster (Yes, every kid should have the right to be a hero!)

Special-Features:  Based on the fact that playing games for a long time in desolate cubes (for laymans: a cube is a small windowless room which contains merely one computer and ONE joystick) becomes boring and makes depresive I'm proud to inform you that FFireball becomes one day the option to play in a 2-Player-Action-Mode, year!

Platform:  I coded the first step in C++ on a Linux (@Linus: I love you!) system. To handle the I/O-Devices and other specials I use SDL (thx @ Sam Lantinga & crew) so that FFireball will be completely platform independent in the early future.

Discussion:  O.k. guys - time to harm me! Please tell me everything you don't like or you would like to change. Naturally you are also welcome giving me suggestions for improvement, telling me your wishes and so on. Right - while there is STILL no forum tu discuss - please contact me per Email, thanks!

By the way:  I hate commas - at least in connection with the english language. And of course - my english is comparable with that of Lothar Matthäus =;-)

February 22th 2006:  [END]: Sorry, I had to close this project. I know, it's out of the blue... why? Hmmm, always the same reason - the day does not have more than 24 hours. Don't worry, you can still download it at the end of this page. If you are in a snit, you can visit its successor here: www.capitan-sanchez.de (or download it directly there: /capitan/download/dacs/)

March 18th 2005:  [TEST]: I coded my own string class and a message queue which shows several things (like critical energy state and so on) on the display. I hope it's worth testing it...

March 9th 2005:  [Big Step]: since today, the first windows binary is downloadable (even though the linux binary reaches frame rates upteen times higher). Apart from that, a lot of bugs have been cleaned, so that I released version 0.01.  [INFORMATION]: by the way, if the sound output annoys you, you can start without sound in this way: "ffireball --nosound". However you get more information reading the readme file (or option "--help").

March 7th 2005:  [TEST]: Sound, visualisation of the shot count and several bugfixes.  [INFORMATION]: the same es ever.

February 27th 2005:  [TEST]: advanced rocket shot, mini explosions and more.  [INFORMATION]: the same es ever.

December 31th 2004:  [TEST]: enemy formation, enemy shot, energy visualisation.  [INFORMATION]: option "-?" or "--help" for help screen

July 5th 2004:  [TEST]: rocket shot, laser shot, enemy explosion.  [INFORMATION]: option "-fs" for fullscreen mode; running the game with command "./ffireball [-fs] > developFile" stops bucking; key "a" for laser shot, key "s" for rocket shot.
